The images above are from my wonderland series. They are based on the time spent with my daughter as she helps me rekindle the wonder that comes so naturally in childhood. Inspired by chance, I have allowed this project to lead me. Multiplicity, openness, and serendipity mirror my personal experiences in life. By giving up complete control, I hope for the “happy accident.” I’m always searching for those instances when a subject loses him or herself in the moment.
I collaborate with my nine-year-old daughter, and she provides a greatly appreciated, free spirited model for creative expression. This approach honors my artistic and personal interests. Seeing through my child’s eyes makes me more optimistic, and following this intuitive path has revealed to me the magic of vulnerability.
I’m inspired by images that capture movement, play, light, nature, and spirituality. With multiple layers, I hope for multiple meanings as I search for a visually poetic approach to expanding the fleeting moments of experience.
